If someone ask me, "Sam, how would you prefer to learn in English?"
I guess I will answer: "I love to learn and work in a team and it will be great if we could sharing a common interest while the best thing is we have a chance to share what we love to other classmates."
As most of formal subjects of Degree program do not really require team work in our assessments, so the only opportunity for us to work in a team is during those participating in those MPW/MPU subjects.
So, I feel that it will be a good way if the English class members can be divided into around 5-6 peoples in team and we need to come out with a general mind-map or concepts of any topics that given by our lecturer and before end of the class, each lesson will allow 2-3 teams to come out in-front of everyone and present their topics that going to takes about 5 minutes per team.
I guess this will be fun and effective for us to practice both writing and communicating skills in English in front of large number of audiences. Besides, we all can work and perform in a functional team while whole class will be able to learn something new. This is what we call as "We Are One' right? =P
Everybody searching for a hero because people need someone to hold on to when we are down and out or something bad happened to us.
For me, my family, friends & my 4 cute dogs are the strength of my life and that's what I used to proud with. But however, there is always a super-hero who is really influenced my life a lot and I think without her, probably I cant find my own way since few years back. While this super-hero is the one-and-only the female selling singer in history of the world, Celine Dion.
Celine Dion, who born in March of 1968 at Quebec City (French Province in Canada) is the 14th children in her family. Throughout all the years, there're so much of huge achievements which could not be surpass by any other singer up to date in the music history. But, how Celine, a singer could be my hero and give me faiths and believes of love in life? Let's check it out.
I still can barely remember when I was 18 and got upset in my working industry, I was struggling to complete with other people as I dont have any tertiary studies qualification and obviously I'm out of the trend of teen-society and of course I cant speak in English which bring me all the awkward and uncomfortable feeling at that upon of time.
After all, I tried to read some books and access YouTube for some nice videos and movies, yet "that something" had finally came to me, I watched the documentary of "Celine Dion - A New Day Show in Vegas", I get shocked at that moment because I couldn't believe that a mega-star like her, can be so humble and down to earth. She talks with all her fans that came from around the worlds with soft tones, give them warm hugs and try to encourage them after listen to their problems, she says thankyou whenever her fans give her flowers & presents and etc. And I started to think, she like to sing and perform, she believe in herself and this leads her to have more than 220millions copies of album sold in worldwide and why I cant do something incredible like her in my life?
Why not I choose to be myself and do what I want to do as long as its not wrong with all my passions.
Thus, I started feel interested and did some research on Celine Dion.
Celine, a typical French Canadian who had started her career in francophone since 12 years old and she only started to learn English as her second-language at her late-teen age when she started be a loyal fans of the King of Pop - Michael Jackson, she is such a hardworking people and master English language in just couple of months time. And after so many years, me, a Chinese 18-teen that are not able to speak in English fluently going to take her as a role model and try to sing all her songs and understand the meaning of each word in those lyrics. Because of her, I can speak, I can sing and I am confident to communicate with people in English.
Besides, she will always bring her family especially her late dad and mum to every events/functions if she could and she even told the media, her dad will always be her first fans whenever and wherever. This makes me think of my lovely parents, they're always there for me when I need them.
Her husband, Renee Angelil who is 26 years old than her is her first-and-only manager that able to get close with her since she was 12 and they got marry at year of 1994. On last summer, Celine postpone all her jobs and plans for the 3rd times in her music career, included her Las Vegas hot-cake 3 seasons sold-out shows and the Asia Tour that actually had been started to sell the tickets in certain countries, while the reason is her husband's medical report shows that the tumor cancer had came back to him and he needs to cut some parts of his tongue in order to cure the disease. Celine wanted to contribute all her times to him and stay beside of him just to give him supports & courage.
For me, there's nothing that will be more important that having a sweet and complete family. She inspired me to love my family more, concern them on everyday and try to spend some time to communicate with them on each day no matter how busy I'm.
As a singer, willing to stop her career at her most successful moment at 1999 (the-great-Titanic era) with the reason of she want to build a proper family with her husband and after so many years, sacrifice all her opportunities to complete with other younger diva in the industry just to accompany her beloved one. I feel so much touching and there's no word that can describe my feeling other that I salute her as a partner in any relationship. Don't you think that loyalty and true heart are what we need to contribute in a relationship? Definitely its not easy for any couple to go through challenges and obstacles, this is what I am pretty sure that I will imitate what she do for her family now and apply the same way to my family on future.
Stories will never end while life's just like an unfinished song that you might thinking its ending but perhaps its actually just a begun in any new chapter of life.
My hero, Celine Dion, she taught me to believe in love, faith, miracle and never give up my own dreams that eventually hard to follow and these all really bring a lot of changes and impacts to my life. I will never forget about my past because those experiences makes me a stronger person and yet I will always bear in mind that what she quote in interview: "If you believe in your dream, it means you believe in yourself, and if you believe in yourself, there's nothing that can be go wrong". I'm truly appreciate of what Celine inspired me and without her love songs companion on every night, I would not have good sleep.
1.25am now and I guess its my time to have a good rest after listened to "My Heart Will Go On". Goodnight.
